in italian it is known as Stato della Città del Vaticano which literally means state of the city of the vatican. it is the smallest independent state by area.

there's nothing much to be seen here. since it is in the city of rome itself kami pun jejak kaki lah. consisted of St. Peter's Square, the basilica and obelisk. kami jejak yang mana free entrance ja. tak kuasa nak pay entrance fee.

cuma kalau nak compare masa nak prepare sekolah kat sana dulu (ahaks dah start compare)

plus the school there were not that concerned about the kids attire
they're more concerned in welcoming the students and making sure that kids love coming to school. in which case they have succeded in doing it.

dekat malaysia ni kadang2 rasanya the uniforms tu memangla nampak smart tapi menyeksa kan budak

contoh: wajib pakai belt walau seluar tak longgar. motif????

everybody must have their own opinion about this but then for me ntahla.

tapi for me in primary school i do not think you need to stress your children out by sending them to tuition for each subject since standard 1. how succesfull you want them to be.
i rasa let them be lah.
as long as you know he does not have a problem in understanding the basic teachings i think your child should be ok
keghairahan parents mengahantar anak2 tuisyen dan dok dengar2 juga pusat2 tuition yang provide the kids with soalan bocor upsr. masyaallah who are you trying to fool. kalau anak kita bijak insyaallah dia tak perlukan soalan bocor. let them answer as per their capabilities. not by getting soalan bocor. after all not getting 5A s in upsr is not the end of the world. there's more to life than upsr. in fact ramai ja even yang tak score in spm managed to do well in life.

whilst bersembang dengan my other half, kami buka balikla akaun tabung haji kami. we have registered but our turn is on 2016. tambah tolak kira bahagi duit in the account we think that it should be enough for us to go next year. so our dream now is to appeal if possible to perform our hajj next year. insyaallah kalau ada rezeki

selamat hari raya

puasa baru berapa hari ucapan raya dah kuar paper. hehhehe semangat betul. dinna expect that it will come out so soon. since puasa hari makin sejuk although summer. lately lagi terasa sejuk. maybe sebab puasa sama. tak banyak lemak dalam badan. keh keh keh. danish still able to fast. we have start packing so rumah dah macam tongkang pecah. tiket balik pun dah confirm. too bad we all tak beraya malaysia.
bulan2 puasa ni terkenang sungguh tanah air terchenta. ingat food la tuh. buka puasa ramai2. makanan melimpah ruah. kat sini mmg amalkan kesederhanaan dan belasah aje.
two days ago my other half buat curry puff. tadi dia buat murtabak. so i tunggu je apa dia teringin, dia buat i tumpang je lah.
last weekend my siblings gather ramai2 buka puasa. oh memang rindu. takpa tak lama dah.

puasa in summer

alhamdulillah. dah puasa 2 days. am so happy that danish managed to puasa as well. the weather has been very helpful these past 2 days. tak rasa dahaga. hopefully the weather will maintain for the rest of ramadhan. and it was not that bad. though i know it's too early to say since baru puasa 2 hari, but then if we have set it in our mind i think we should be able to do it.

september 2010

this picture was taken within first few days of our arrival. all of us were unhappy. we were staring at those ducks and wishing we were in malaysia.

i think the ducks and swans will miss my kids as they like to feed them. they're quite picky eater as they only eat bread and not leftover nasi :p

on our first day we walk to the town centre. dinna know which bus to take so we ended up walking all the way to town. think that was our first and last walk to the center.

for the whole year ayah has managed to capture the wallace monument in different time, season and angle. this was taken when we were still in awe of its existence.

ramadhan

ramadhan is approaching
this year we'll be experiencing slightly different experience
puasa yang agak lama
dan tiada pasar ramadhan
insyallah survive hehehhe

we had some makan-makan just now
meraikan students that's going back for good.

summer holidays

kids ending their school days for the summer term by the end on this week
they'll be having their summer holidays till mid of august
in which case we will still be around but we will be busy packing and fasting so i do not think i'll be sending them to school.
so that's it. their one year experience schooling in scotland which i am sure will be the most enjoyable school term of their life.
so danish will be in primary three when we get back and hanna will still be in nursery.
there will not be much impact on hanna but am not sure for danish
honeymoon time is over.
time to get back into the real world.

tok

i got a news from my mom that tok was admitted to hospital after she fainted in her house this afternoon. she was rushed to the hospital.


at the moment her condition was stable however her heart is weak. she's 82.

she's my one and only tok left. she's the mother of my arwah ayah. after ayah passed away we had nowhere to go. mom was an only child and her mom left her in may just a few months before my ayah. my mom was not an independent woman. though she's working as a teacher and earning her own money; she's oblivious to surroundings and left all matters to my father's hand. so she was in shocked and left on her own with 6 children ranging from 3 to 17 years old for her to look for after my ayah died..

my tok lived in kedah while we at that time lived in perak.
since my mom had nobody to turn to my ayah's siblings asked us to move in with tok in kedah.
so we were quite close to tok since 1993.

so she has not been well this past few years. but she's good for a woman of her age. one thing that i hate most at the moment is not be able to be with them in this kind of situation. insyaallah i'll pray from afar hoping the best for her.

it's holi holiday

travelodge released its 10 pound sale today
it started at 6 am
so being a cheapskate traveller yours truly must have definitely grab this opportunity

the server was down several times
it took me nearly an hour to secure a one night stay
at 9am the maintenance guy knocked on my door and told me that they need to shut down the power supply for some maintenance work

pretty tragic huh
i'm lucky enuff to secure myself 5 nights bookings.

i have not been giving much thought on what i would be doing while being away for a year

thought that i would have the whole year to think bout it

well 7 months have passed and i realized i have not been doing anything

and have'nt got the time to think bout it and that one year is coming to an end

and it got me thinking

have i been wasting a year of my time?

i am not sorry though for not doing anything for this whole 7 months

for i have been doing almost everything i did not do whilst i was in malaysia

being a mother/wife 24/7

it's a tough job.

memang tak mampu

tried hard to be good at it

seemed that you need to have the talent,patient and a lot more to succeed.

have tried my best though

the outcome?? kena tanya anak-anak/other half la about my score....

but it sure felt good not having to think of anything else beside what's for breakfast before going to sleep at night.

am sure gonna miss the feeling
