I have always wanted to go to mecca, no doubt about that. But we were undecided whether we should perform our obligatory hajj first then umrah or perform umrah first then the obligatory hajj.
We have registered ourselves with tabung haji and after having our appeal for hajj turned down for two consecutive years we have decided to go for our umrah first. Little did we know that we would be given rezki to bring our children along.
We first did our registration with Tiram Travel. Their advertisement in the paper is so enticing. We were promised a cahretered flight direct to jeddah/ medina to be determimed later with either Mas, Saudi Air or Nas Air. The accomodation was to be in the zam zam tower, a mere 50 metre from the al haram.
The main reason why we decided to take up with tiram is for the accommodation. Having decided to bring the kids we think the nearer the accommodation is to the mosque is better.
We made our bookings in october for december journey. However nearing end of november we have heard that quite a number of Tiram Travel packages has been canceled or postponed. And a week before our journey the hq people of Tiram Travel gave us a call saying that our trip has been cancelled as they did not obtain landing rights for the chartered flight. We were so devastated and frustrated.
Alhamdulillah we managed to find a new package with andalusia travel and our trip need only be postponed a day later.
